CDQ Wins Fee Award For Discovery Dispute
In 2021, the defendant in a pending lawsuit served CDQ with a subpoena seeking documents relating to its representation of a former client. Dan Dowd and Neil Stuart, on behalf of CDQ, moved to quash the subpoena, as it was exceedingly overbroad and sought privileged and confidential information. Over staunch objection by the defendant, the Superior Court granted CDQ’s motion to quash the subpoena, and also agreed to consider a fee award to CDQ as a sanction for the defendant’s tactics. The Superior Court subsequently granted CDQ the full amount of attorneys’ fees it sought.
