CDQ Trial Team Obtains $86 Million Award Against Conley Wolfswinkel
After a two-month trial to the Honorable Arthur Anderson in a litigation that has spanned a dozen years, CDQ and its co-counsel Stinson Leonard Street obtained an $86 million damage award for their client, real estate investment group 10K, LLC, against Conley Wolfswinkel and WVSV Holdings, LLC. The trial team was led by CDQ’s Dan Dowd and Stinson’s Mike Manning and Jeff Goulder. The case was retried after a 2007 jury verdict in 10K’s favor was set aside. The Arizona Court of Appeals ordered a new trial in the published opinion Cal X-Tra v. W.V.S.V. Holdings, L.L.C., 229 Ariz. 377, 276 P.3d 11 (App. 2012). Judge Anderson found that Mr. Wolfswinkel and his entity aided and abetted a breach of fiduciary duty by 10K’s former manager that resulted in Mr. Wolfswinkel obtaining control over 10K’s property.
