Dan Dowd Appointed to ABA Section of Litigation Council
CDQ is proud to announce that Dan Dowd has been selected from a competitive field to serve as a member of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation’s governing body, the Council. The Council is responsible for setting Section policy, approving the Section budget, and considering proposals from Committee Chairs, other ABA Sections or Committees, and outside groups. Dan has been active in the ABA Section of Litigation for many years. He joined the Federal Practice Task Force in 2000. From 2005-2008, Dan chaired the Solo & Small Firm Committee, and from 2008-2009 served as a Division Director. In 2009, Dan became the Co-Chair of the Special Committee on the Future of Litigation. From 2010-2012, Dan acted as the Section’s Regional Chair of the Judicial Internship Opportunity Program (“JIOP”), and since 2012 has been the JIOP National Co-Chair. In nominating Dan for the Council position, the Council’s Advisory committee described Dan as a “fearsome litigator and trial attorney.”
